Our History
First Chicago Plumbing has served Chicago and the North Suburbs for over two decades, but the story starts with AP Construction Inc., a remodeling company founded by Atanas Petrov. Atanas immigrated to the United States from Bulgaria at 47 and built a business that took on every part of a home renovation.
His son, Eugene Petrov, joined him as a young adult, and Atanas taught him everything he knew. Over time, it became clear that plumbing was the work they both did best, so together they decided to focus on it entirely. AP Construction became First Chicago Plumbing.
What began as one truck working out of the family garage grew into a company with its own warehouse, multiple teams, and a reputation for quality work and personal service.
Atanas passed away in early 2022. Eugene took over the company and continues to hold it to the standard his father set. We’re still family owned and family operated, and we approach every job the way Atanas did: understand the problem, explain the options, and recommend the solution that’s right for the customer, not the one that’s best for the sale.
